Step 2: Services and locations
Choose your business type, the services you want more work in, and the communities you actually serve. These two lists drive everything that gets written.
This is the most consequential screen in setup. Your services become service pages, and your services crossed with your locations become the local article topics suggested in the next steps. Everything downstream is built from these two lists.
Confirm your business type
The scan detects your business type automatically from what it read on your site. Check it, and correct it if the guess is off — a med spa that reads as a dermatology practice will get the wrong service catalog.
Your business type selects the catalog of pre-written service content you get to pick from. How JumpSites works lists all 61 supported types.
Choose your services
Pick the services you offer from the catalog for your business type. Each one you select becomes a service page on your growth site.
If the catalog is missing something you do, type it in. Custom services work the same way as catalog ones — they get pages, and they feed the topic suggestions.
Add your locations
List the towns, neighbourhoods and communities you genuinely serve. These become the local half of your content: a service on its own produces a general guide, but a service plus a location produces the page that answers what something costs *here*, or who the best provider *near me* is.
Add the places you would actually travel to and take work in. A location you list but do not serve produces content that generates enquiries you have to turn down.
How many is enough?
More services and more locations means more topics available to write about, both at launch and in the weeks after. A business with three services and two locations has a much smaller pool than one with eight services and five locations, and it will exhaust its core topics sooner.
That is not a reason to pad the lists. It is a reason to be thorough about what is genuinely true — and a reason that, if weekly publishing later tells you it has covered your core topics, the fix is to come back here and add more.
